In The District

The month of October has been busy around the 28th Senate District, and I have had the pleasure of attending several exciting events and meeting with many of you individually in and around our community. Serving you is a great honor and I encourage you to contact me with any state related issues you may have.
  • During the first week of October, I had the pleasure of touring Applied Textiles of Byron Center and Enterprise Tool & Die in Grandville as part of Michigan’s Manufacturing week. While at these facilities, I got to see firsthand how our West Michigan companies are meeting the product demands of people from across the region.

  • On October 6th, I began the day by attending the Cannon Township Fire Department Pancake Breakfast. It was a great opportunity to meet the brave men and women who faithfully serve our community. Afterwards, I had the pleasure of seeing many of you at the Cedar Springs Red Flannel Parade. The parade was another great community experience seeing a town come together for a wonderful weekend!

  • On October 12th, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful celebration for Kent County Sheriff Larry Stelma.  The Kent County delegation of Senators Dave Hildebrand & myself, along with Representatives Rob VerHeulen, Chris Afendoulis, Tommy Brann, and Thomas Albert presented Larry with a Michigan State Tribute and a State Seal. Thanks you Sheriff for 46 years of service to our community.

  • On October 19th, I was honored to present 35 Vietnam Veterans with a 50 year Vietnam Veteran commemorative lapel pin at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. It's been a mission of mine to make sure every Vietnam Veteran in Michigan that I meet is properly welcomed home. I believe it is important to publicly thank and honor the service and selfless sacrifices of these brave veterans who served during the Vietnam era and it was a pleasure meeting those in attendance.

If you want more information, or would like to invite me to your event, please contact my office.
