Robertson supports legislation to assist veterans entering the workforceSenate bills recently signed into law will help support veterans by removing unnecessary barriers to employment in Michigan. The new laws waive the license or initial registration fee for honorably discharged veterans in certain fields, including public accountants, foresters, builders, barbers, engineers, private security guards and many other occupations.
Related legislation passed by the Senate will also make it easier for the spouses of active duty military to obtain a temporary, professional license in Michigan. Senate Bills 741 and 742 have been sent to the governor for his signature.
Our veterans and military families offer valuable skills, training and experience. Let's do all we can to thank them for their service and sacrifice, and help make Michigan their home!
