Runestad to be sworn in as senator

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — State Sen.-elect Jim Runestad, R-White Lake, is inviting members of the community to attend his swearing-in ceremony.

The brief ceremony will take place this Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Commerce Township Hall at 2009 Township Drive, Commerce Township.

A reception with pizza and refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the ceremony commencing at 7 p.m.

“I’m incredibly honored to represent our community in the State Senate,” Runestad said. “I’m looking forward to working hard on behalf of Oakland County families and the underprivileged in our great community.”

Last November, Runestad was elected to 15th state Senate District representing western Oakland County.

Runestad will be sworn in by the Honorable Judge Michael Warren.
